Plasma torches have been utilized with CNC tables since the late 1980’s. They are used in a wide range of cutting applications of many metals ranging is size from sheet metal like that used in HVAC duct applications to inches thick for structure components and vehicle/machine parts. Plasma systems are relativity low cost when compared to laser and water jet equipment. When the higher precision cut of laser is not required, plasma enjoys a lower purchase cost, lower operating cost and high production throughput.
